Yup, it's more pictures instead of words, but these pictures don't need much more explanation than what their captions provide.
When my sister saw them on my Flickr page (she checks it every day to see if I've posted new pictures of Flora), she told me that there was a similar picture of my dad and I. I can't remember if I've seen it (I'm sure I have), but she told me that she wanted to group the two pictures together in a frame. Obviously, she is the scrapbooker of the family. I then remembered that I saw a similar picture with Sean and his dad (his dad isn't sleeping, but the premise is right), so maybe she should group all three if we can find all the pictures.
I must have stumbled on some classic baby picture pose, if we all have a picture like this. I wonder if there is a book of classic baby picture ideas that you can apply to your baby.
We're a pretty hardcore bunch of partiers around here. I didn't even remember to say Happy New Year.
Of course, this was the day Sean went to Belleville to go see the Bulls (OHL hockey) play with a friend he hasn't seen in three years. He's playing his return travel plans by ear. I don't want him driving the 401 in shitty weather, but if it gets really bad, that means I may not see him till Monday. It's only a 2.5 hour trip, but no need for that stress if he's got places to stay down there (he can stay either at his mom's place or with our friends Jason and Amanda). The game just started so I won't be hearing from him for awhile, so no need to worry yet.
I'm hoping to stay inside for the rest of the night minus any pee breaks for the dog. We've been outside together a few times today and Leia is loving the snow. I wish our yard was completely fenced in - then I could let her out to rip for a bit and she'd get her fix. Right now, she's getting small doses of snowy fun with every trip outside to pee. Since we're so close to the road and our sidewalk gets a lot of traffic, I can't let her off her leash for more than a couple of minutes when no one is around. She's having fun though.
Sean and I split our Thanksgiving weekend between his mother's house, my mother's place and finally my sister's house. We had lasagna at Sean's mum's house, and the big turkey dinner at Kyla's house, which was a team effort between her and my mom. Food was enjoyed by all.
Leia had some interesting adventures too. Sean's mum's kitten was constantly pestering Leia. Leia took it very gracefully, and only growled at her a few times.
The kitten was so cute, it was hard to stay mad.
Sean tried on a mullet wig at my sister's place:
No, wait. That's Brindell, the guinea pig that belongs to Kyla's workplace. (She babysits on the weekend). I think he looks like a walking toupee.
No antagonism from either party here.
...just in time for bed. Maybe it was a delayed reaction to the flash.
When I didn't hear The Simpsons theme coming from the TV at 9PM, I knew something was wrong...
A really good weekend was had at the melissa-and-sean homestead. The weather was gorgeous, so we spent lots of time outside. We got the yard cleaned up which was my major goal for the weekend. We did all the usual weekend errands and chores, and a few out-of-the-ordinary jobs (like washing curtains), so it wasn't like we did anything particularly exciting. However, being able to sit outside afterwards in shorts and a t-shirt with a cold drink to hang out with Sean and the dog was wonderful.
The cat was mad that he couldn't come out too, and meowed at the door loudly to show his annoyance. He forgets that he is an indoor cat. We did feel bad about leaving him inside though, so Sean picked him up and brought him out to sit with him in the chair. He was very squirmy and just wanted to get down and run away! (Earlier attempts to bring the cat outside have ended up with us going to look under our neighbour's car to find the cat hiding under it since he knows we can't reach him.) The cat was then returned to the house where he angrily meowed some more.
Spring fever is in full swing at my house. Just wait till gardening season starts!
